Update on Qatar

Dear Valued Customer,

Please be advised that as of yesterday 5th June 2017, the UAE, Saudi Arabia, Egypt, Bahrain and today 6th June 2017, Yemen cut diplomatic ties with Qatar.

Consequently, DP World Jebel Ali and Abu Dhabi Terminals no longer accept cargo to/from Qatar ports (including transshipment cargo). In compliance with the above guidelines we are ceasing cargo acceptance between Qatar and the above countries with immediate effect.

Further to above, we have temporarily closed bookings for cargo from rest of the world that transship over Jebel Ali. Read More...

VGM: 304 ANSI Shipping Instruction

It is possible to send the Verified Gross Mass (VGM) in an ANSI format. It can be done by identifying the VGM on the N7 segment (equipment details) of the 304 shipping instructions.

Please kindly the attached ANSI version including the verified weight:

The SOLAS weight initiative is an industry sponsored enterprise focused on ensuring safety. Certified weights eliminate the accidents caused by mis-declared container weight as well as provide assurance to different parties in the supply chain. Ultimately, this improves safety of the workforce, vessels, terminals, and equipment.

Port Situation: MECL Maersk Detroit will omit Port Said call

A serious incident occurred at the terminal in Port Said, Egypt when the vessel Cosco Hope hit port crane QC17 during maneuvering. As a result, the crane collapsed and resulting in suspension of operations impacting the below vessels:

– Maersk Detroit – will omit the Port Said call
– Cap Harvey – revised connection time unknown
– Egy Glory – revised connection time unkown
– Extraloader HS Discoverer – diverted to Damietta

Please Read: SOLAS Starts July 1, 2016

SOLAS stands for Safety of Life at Sea. In order to improve the safety of the workforce, vessels and equipment, the International Maritime Organization (IMO) has passed a new amendment that focuses on verifying container weight for all shippers. This regulation goes into affect on July 1, 2016. Please see the link below for detailed information about SOLAS. Change of Designation of Exigency Areas (USC07)

Valued clients,

Effective from April 8th, the following locations are no longer considered Exigency Areas:

• Libya
• Senegal
• Liberia
• Ghana
• Sierra Leone
• Gambia
• Guinea-Bissau
• Cote d’Ivoire

Afghanistan, Iraq and Pakistan continue to remain as Exigency Areas. Please contact your dedicated Maersk Line, Limited representative if you have questions.

Terminal change in Antwerp for Transatlantic Services

Dear Valued Customer,

In order to continue to provide you with a high level of service and to maintain a sustainable product, Maersk Line has changed the terminal in Antwerp for Transatlantic services (TA1, TA2, TA3, TA4B, Canada Express).

The change is effective as of week 18.

Old Terminal: Delwaidedok (Q730)
New Terminal: Deurganckdock (Q1742)
