Temporary Office Closure – Houston, Texas

Please be aware that due to severe flooding in the greater Houston area, the Maersk Line office in The Woodlands will remain closed today, Monday, April 18, 2016. Although rain is expected to continue all week, we are anticipating a re-opening tomorrow. Booking and documentation requests will continue to be processed timely by our back office teams. Unfortunately any exceptional handling will have to wait until the office re-opens.

Savannah, Georgia Port Damaged By High Winds


The Georgia Ports Authority sustained damage as a result of high winds.  The initial assessment shows 3 cranes damaged and blown off their tracks between berths 2 & 3.  At present there are 4 working cranes in the downriver position from the damaged cranes, and 13 cranes in the up river position from the damaged cranes.  This will limit the number of cranes that are available to each vessel.  We will revert as further assessments come in from the GPA and they formulate their recover plan. Maersk Iowa Delayed into Rotterdam

Maersk Iowa, a transatlantic vessel, is delayed due to inclement weather and slow cargo operations in Newark and Charleston.  The original ETA Rotterdam was 3/23/15 07:30 hours. The new ETA Rotterdam is 3/24/15 03:00 hours.

Extended Gate Hours at Virginia International Gateway

The Port of Virginia will extend the gate hours at Virginia International Gateway (VIG) until 9 p.m. for the next three nights: Wednesday, March 11; Thursday, March 12; and Friday, March 13. This is being done to help alleviate the weather-driven cargo back-ups that have beset the terminal for last several days.

Additionally, VIG will have gate hours on Sunday, March 15, from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m.; the terminal will observe normal Saturday gate hours as well. The PPCY hours will mirror those of VIG March 11-15. Read More...
