Update on Qatar

Dear Valued Customer,

Please be advised that as of yesterday 5th June 2017, the UAE, Saudi Arabia, Egypt, Bahrain and today 6th June 2017, Yemen cut diplomatic ties with Qatar.

Consequently, DP World Jebel Ali and Abu Dhabi Terminals no longer accept cargo to/from Qatar ports (including transshipment cargo). In compliance with the above guidelines we are ceasing cargo acceptance between Qatar and the above countries with immediate effect.

Further to above, we have temporarily closed bookings for cargo from rest of the world that transship over Jebel Ali. Read More...

Customer Advisory: Norfolk VIG Terminal – Currently Closed

Please be advised that the Norfolk Terminal (VIG) is currently closed as a result of computer issues. Any drivers currently in line are being redirected. There is no ETA for resolution at this time.

Port Situation: MECL Maersk Detroit will omit Port Said call

A serious incident occurred at the terminal in Port Said, Egypt when the vessel Cosco Hope hit port crane QC17 during maneuvering. As a result, the crane collapsed and resulting in suspension of operations impacting the below vessels:

– Maersk Detroit – will omit the Port Said call
– Cap Harvey – revised connection time unknown
– Egy Glory – revised connection time unkown
– Extraloader HS Discoverer – diverted to Damietta

Service Closure – Salerno, Italy

Dear Valued Customer,

This advisory is to inform that service to/from Salerno, Italy will be discontinued.

The last expected departure from Salerno is the Allegro (voyage 1604); departing April 22, 2016. Import acceptance is closed with immediate effect.

Shipments will be accommodated to and from Naples, just 40 km from Salerno, where Maersk Line offers a wide service network and two direct calls on the East-West Network. The TA5 and TA6 Services to North America and Algeciras will relay cargo to South America and the Far East. Read More...

Changes to Ports of Call (Hodeidah)

Please be guided that in the last 24 hours the situation in Hodeidah has deteriorated. Maersk Line will regretfully stop acceptance of bookings to Hodeidah with immediate effect.

All containers on the water and in transhipment ports destined for Hodeidah are being moved to Salalah.  Maersk Line will be in contact with shippers for potential deliveries to destinations outside Yemen.

We are monitoring the situation closely and will advise in case of any developments.

Strike in Naples, Italy

A strike has just been announced unexpectedly in Naples, Italy for today 23rd, 24th, 27th and 28th of July. The strike is considered “illegal” but affecting operations which has stopped.

The team will revert with  any impacts to schedule.

Transatlantic Inbound Cargo from North Europe – Military Household Goods

We will have a network change in the very near future in regard to the Transatlantic route into Houston and land bridge moves out to Los Angeles.

Effective July 25, 2015, and going forward, import bound cargo for Los Angeles via this service will be drayed over to the Pearland facility and railed into the Hobart ramp, avoiding Los Angeles ocean terminal P400 altogether.

We expect that our Military Household Goods customers in this corridor will experience much improved turn times for their trucking vendors based on this change. Read More...

UPDATE: Impending strike at Aqaba June 11, 2015 – No Strike

ACT (Aqaba Container Terminal) has confirmed that there is no strike at the terminal. They have advised that there is still congestion at the port since last week and customers are unable to register their containers and many containers are still gated-out.
