BNSF Logistics Park Kansas City (LPKC) Transition

Update 02 – January 9, 2014 / 1220 hrs (12:20pm):

In an effort to make significant improvements to their rail services, BNSF has been transitioning from their Argentine Intermodal facility in Kansas City, KS, to Logistics Park Kansas City (LPKC) Intermodal Facility in Edgerton, Kansas.

All international traffic originating from and destined to Southern California on-dock marine terminals, as well as international and domestic traffic moving to and from Los Angeles, CA and Phoenix, AZ, has completed the transition.

In Phase 3, which is outlined below, BNSF will transition Chicago, Texas and Seattle/Tacoma traffic, beginning January 20, 2014.

  • All Chicago IL, Texas (Alliance/Houston) and Seattle/Tacoma WA destination traffic should be brought to LPKC beginning January 20, 2014
  • All Chicago IL, Texas (Alliance/Houston) and Seattle/Tacoma WA originating traffic should be picked up at LPKC beginning January 21, 2014

Remaining traffic (Northern California) will continue to operate via Argentine until February 3, 2014, when the final lanes (North Bay, Stockton and Oakland) will be implemented.

Update 01 – September 24, 2013 / 1911 hrs (07:11pm):

We have been notified that BNSF is opening a new facility in Kansas City:

Logistics Park, 32880 West 191st St., Edgerton, KS  66021

 

They will be closing the old ramp:

Argentine Intermodal Ramp, 720 South 38th St., Kansas City, KS  66103

 

With this change, there will be cutover dates of which you should be aware.  Please see the changes below as some will be in effect starting on September 27:

 

Cutover dates – Cargo with a cutoff of these dates or later will go to the new facility.

Departing KSS going to:

  • Los Angeles/Long Beach on dock facilities – September 30
  • Los Angeles Hobart – October 14
  • All other destinations – October 28

 

Cutover dates – Cargo releasing from the origin point on these dates or later will arrive at the new facility.

Arriving KSS from:

  • Los Angeles/Long Beach on dock facilities – September 27
  • Los Angeles Hobart – October 9 (cutoff not released)
  • All other origins – TBD

 

DCLI chassis will be available.
