Update 03 – October 17, 2013 / 1043 hrs (10:43am):

The TA2 Service’s Maersk Ohio departed Rotterdam as planned earlier today and, as expected, operations are complete.

  • Majority of exports were not able to load the Maersk Ohio
  • Cargo will be rebooked to the Maersk Missouri with a 2-week delay as next week’s vessel, Maersk Carolina, will omit Rotterdam
  • Transfers to the TA1/TA5 are not possible
  • Customers have the option to pick up cargo from Rotterdam and deliver to Antwerp for next week’s Maersk Carolina
  • Felixstowe boxes in Rotterdam from the Maersk Iowa remain at the terminal and are now planned to load the Maersk Missouri
  • Next week’s TA2 Maersk Carolina will omit Rotterdam and discharge in Antwerp
  • Force Majeure has been declared on each of these vessels as well which means import cargo must be picked up in Antwerp
  • Labor negotiations are ongoing but at this time we cannot predict how long the labor disruption will continue

Update 02 – October 16, 2013 / 0908 hrs (09:08am):

US Military cargo is being prioritized while labor slow-downs continue at APMT in Rotterdam

  • TA2 Service’s Maersk Ohio is alongside in Rotterdam but is progressively slow
  • To stay close to schedule, the ship will depart Thursday afternoon regardless of whether work is complete
  • As of now, we expect imports to discharge completely, however it is not likely that many exports will load
  • Felixstowe imports from last week’s Maersk Iowa, which discharged Rotterdam, will not be loaded on teh Ohio
  • Due to the delay, the vessel will swap Felixstowe and Bremerhaven calls in the rotation, calling Bremerhaven next; this will mean a 3-day delay for imports to Felixstowe
  • No delay is expected for exports loading US

Update 01 – October 15, 2013 / 2120 hrs (09:20pm):

We are currently experiencing disruptions in the port of Rotterdam due to an on-going strike by the port workers, with go-slow action.  We are currently monitoring and reviewing the situation but there will be an impact as vessels will need to perform cut and run; we will potentially also see omissions.
