Maersk Carolina Delay: Savannah Port Omission

Update 05 – February 17, 2014 / 1557 hrs (03:57pm):

The Maersk Carolina is delayed due to previous bad weather in the Atlantic.  The below cut-offs have been extended at this time:

Houston MON, Feb 24 @ 1630
Mobile WED, Feb 26 @ 1630
Miami FRI, Feb 28 @ 1630
Norfolk FRI, Feb 28 @ 1630

Update 04 – February 5, 2014 / 1611 hrs (04:11pm):

  • Maersk Carolina (Voyage 1405/1406) will omit her next Savannah port call due to the weather in the Gulf of Biscay
  • Vessel is now 4 days delayed into Rotterdam
  • Best sailing time ex Bremerhaven will still be delayed into Newark
  • To avoid accumulating delays we have decided to omit Savannah
  • This will protect Miami and Felixstowe port calls (weather permitted)
  • All Savannah imports are being updated by North Europe to discharge Charleston or Miami, depending on final destination, and either railed or trucked to final destination
  • All Savannah exports will be rolled to the Maersk Missouri (Voyage 1406)

Update 03 – February 4, 2014 / 0304 hrs (03:04am):

  • Maersk Carolina (Voyage 1404) will be delayed further as she had to wait, to avoid a storm
  • ETA Rotterdam will be February 7, 2014 at 2300 hrs (11:00pm)
  • ETD Rotterdam will be February 8, 2014 at 2100 hrs (09:00pm)
  • Containers available to US Government:  February 9, 2014 at 0001 hrs (12:01am)

Update 02 – January 29, 2014 / 0340 hrs (03:40am):

  • Maersk Carolina (Voyage 1404) will be delayed for almost one day into Rotterdam due to bad weather en route to North America
  • ETA Rotterdam will be February 5, 2014, at 2300 hrs (11:00pm)
  • ETD Rotterdam will be February 6, 2014, at 1900 hrs (07:00pm)
  • Containers available to US Government:  February 7, 2014 at 0001 hrs (12:01am)

Update 01 – January 16, 2014 / 1921 hrs (07:21pm):

  • Maersk Carolina (TA2 Service) is delayed 72 hours into Newark
  • Vessel will be no earlier than 48 hours delayed from US
  • Therefore, it has been decided to omit Miami and Felixstowe to help recover the schedule
  • All Miami imports will discharge Savannah and be railed back to Miami
  • All exports for Felixstowe will be rolled to the Maersk Missouri (Voyage 1404)
  • All Miami exports to Bremerhaven and Rotterdam will be rolled to the Maersk Missouri (Voyage 1404)
